Paz Lo is a former Brazilian prison guard and armored paladin who enters the dungeon alongside his cousin Anton as one of Sister Ines Quiteria's protectors, worshipping the Orisha Ogun in hopes of shielding himself from her charm and his fatal condition. Nervous yet loyal, he fights beside Carl's party until his patron Ogun turns on him, killing Anton, burning a handprint into Paz's face and revoking his grace so he cannot heal. As he dies, Ines turns him into a card and later summons him, forcing him to suffer and self-destruct against his pleas. Yet in that state he achieves legend as the 'God Predator,' decapitating the goddess Ysalte, before Carl and his allies honor his wish by ripping his card and freeing him. By Book 7 he survives chiefly as a remembered name: the plate-armored crawler who fought beside Katia and slew a goddess.

Description

Paz is a human man most often concealed beneath heavy armor that clanks whenever he moves. His gestures are animated, and his expression can turn visibly nervous or abruptly still; yellow light may gleam around him in combat. A giant cross tattoo on his back bears a smudged, crude image of Jesus. His most striking facial feature is a hand-shaped burn that leaves red muscle and white teeth exposed; no hair, eye color, or build details are specified. Paz Lo is a man in his mid-thirties whose build and precise features are not described. He wears glowing silver plate armor, offset by platform boots and a backwards baseball cap; his head sticks out from the breastplate in a strikingly unconventional silhouette. A card image shows him smiling, and his armor is described as upgraded. No hair color or eye color is given. Paz is described wearing shining plate armor, its polished surfaces bright and conspicuous. The text provides no reliable details about the wearer’s face, hair, eyes, skin tone, or build, and the armor leaves these features unspecified. The overall impression is of a protected, battle-ready figure, with no further distinctive markings or clothing details established.
