Rock, whose full Horneater name is Lunamor, is a towering, red-haired Horneater who came to the Shattered Plains in the retinue of his nuatoma, only to become Torol Sadeas's property after his master lost a Shardplate duel; after secretly contaminating Sadeas's food, he was condemned to the bridge crews. In Bridge Four he becomes the crew's cook, singer, and one of Kaladin's most steadfast supporters, nursing the wounded and standing beside his captain when the stakes are highest. By Rhythm of War, Rock has helped protect refugees and Dalinar during the evacuation of Urithiru, and he departs with his family for the Horneater Peaks, crediting Kaladin with giving him back his life even as he goes to face justice among his own people.

Description

The text supplies no physical description of Horneater. Their face, complexion, hair, eyes, height, build, clothing, age, and distinguishing features are all unspecified. A definitive visual appearance cannot be established from the available information. A nearly seven-foot-tall, tan-skinned Horneater with a thick-limbed, broad-chested, powerful build and deep red hair. His Horneater beard is long along the sides and covers his cheeks, while the area below his lips and chin is shaved clean; he shaves his head up the center from above the eyebrows back and keeps the remaining hair short. In some appearances his beard is trimmed or clean-shaven. His clothing includes bridgeman’s clothing and a brown leather vest with short trousers. Rock is a large, muscular, middle-aged Horneater, with a substantial build that gives him a naturally imposing silhouette. The text does not specify his hair, eyes, complexion, or individual facial features, so these should remain undefined. He wears practical clothing suited to work and travel rather than any consistently described formal attire. His presence is steady and generous, with an easy warmth that softens his sheer size.
