Vin

Description

A scrawny, small teenage girl with a youthful face and short, ragged hair cut like a boy’s. In her earliest appearance she wears a simple white buttoned shirt and overalls; she has bruises from beatings and a bloodied lip. A petite young woman barely five feet tall with pale skin, dark hair showing slight natural curls, and a slight thin build that appears almost frail yet moves with lithe supple grace and unconscious elegance when burning pewter. Her face bears a small scar on one cheek from prior Mistborn combat with a matching fresh cut added during this story, and she wears a single simple bronze earring as her only jewelry and memento of her mother. She is most often clad in black trousers and a man's buttoned shirt with a tasseled mistcloak swirling about her, almost always barefoot so her tin-enhanced feet can feel the ground, projecting a quiet stealthy presence that can explode into lethal agility at any moment. A slight young woman barely over five feet tall, with pure black hair reaching her collarbone, usually pulled back in a tail. She wears a tasseled mist-cloak over a shirt and trousers; a simple earring is a recurring personal accessory. Vin is slight of frame, with short hair that splays outward when she moves. A mistcloak flutters behind her, giving her silhouette a restless, almost vaporous quality. No specific skin tone, eye color, facial features, or details beneath the cloak are provided. Her presence is remembered as strong yet vulnerable. No detailed physical description of Vin is provided in these references. She is identified as a woman, but her height, build, skin tone, hair, eyes, facial features, and clothing are unspecified. Any visual depiction should leave those details open rather than treating legend as evidence of appearance.
