OreSeur is a Third Generation kandra whose existence is defined by the bodies he wears and the Contracts he serves. In The Final Empire he plays the noble Lord Renoux for Kelsier's crew, and after Kelsier's death he takes on the fallen leader's bones and appearance to rally the rebellion, an act that earns Vin's lasting resentment. In The Well of Ascension he serves Vin, apparently in the form of a massive wolfhound, but the series later reveals that the real OreSeur had been killed by TenSoon. TenSoon took his place and claimed his Blessing of Potency, making the 'OreSeur' of Vin's service an impostor all along.

Description

OreSeur wears a balding, nondescript body, with no distinctive facial features, coloring, or build specified. The appearance is deliberately ordinary rather than memorable, and no particular clothing or accessories are described. His understated presence offers few visual clues to the kandra beneath the borrowed form. A balding, nondescript human male body, dressed in a servant's trousers and shirt. Kelsieremployer
Kelsier's contracted servant, OreSeur impersonated Lord Renoux for the crew. After Kelsier's death he wore Kelsier's form to inspire the rebellion, a service remembered in later books as central to his legacy.
Vinservant
OreSeur passes into Vin's service under Contract. Their relationship stays respectful but tense because Vin resents his use of Kelsier's body. In later books it emerges that her kandra companion had actually been replaced by TenSoon.

Story so far

BOOK 1Mistborn: The Final Empire
- Contracted by Kelsier, OreSeur impersonates the nobleman Lord Renoux to give the crew a foothold among the nobility.
- Abandons the Renoux body for a balding, nondescript form once the role is no longer needed.
- After Kelsier's death, takes on Kelsier's bones and appearance to encourage the rebels and deliver his final instructions.
- His Contract passes to Vin, beginning a respectful but strained relationship.
BOOK 2The Well of Ascension
- Serves Vin under her Contract, with tension lingering over his consumption of Kelsier's body.
- Seemingly adopts the body of a huge, flawlessly replicated wolfhound to accompany and guard Vin.
- Uses the hound form's speed and kandra musculature to keep pace with Vin through the night.
- The kandra in this role is later revealed to be TenSoon, who had secretly killed OreSeur and taken his place.
BOOK 3The Hero of Ages
- Identified as a Third Generation kandra.
- Revealed to have been murdered by his generation brother TenSoon.
- TenSoon is shown to have stolen OreSeur's Blessing of Potency and assumed his identity.
