Telsin Ladrian, Waxillium's sister, evolves from a long-hidden betrayer within the Set into the chosen avatar of the god Autonomy, invested with power that makes her eyes burn red and causes the mists themselves to recoil. Driven by ambition and a need to prove herself worthy of ruling Scadrial, she spearheads the Set's catastrophic plan to destroy Elendel with a bomb. Her shared history with Wax lets each read the other's habits and motives, turning their confrontations into emotionally fraught clashes between family and mortal enemies. Even as Harmony and Wax suspect Autonomy is manipulating her, Telsin presses forward, wary of rivals like Gave Entrone waiting for her to fall.
