Autonomy first surfaces in Scadrian lore under the guise of Trell, a distant god whose thousand starry eyes watched over the Nelazan, an obscure name invoked in cults and mythology long before its true nature was understood. Over the Wax and Wayne era, that half-forgotten deity is revealed as a foreign Shard of Adonalsium seeking to bring Scadrial under its sway, clouding Harmony's sight of the future and working through human agents. Its ambitions culminate in The Lost Metal, where it elevates Telsin Ladrian as its avatar and backs a plot to destroy Elendel and open a portal for invasion, only to be driven back when Wax, Marasi, and their allies defeat its avatar and collapse the gateway. Even in retreat it remains a chilling presence, speaking through a dying, red-eyed vessel with a bloodied smile.

Description

Trell is described symbolically, not as a person with a physical body. His thousand eyes are the stars scattered across the night sky, a vast, quiet watchfulness above the Nelazan. No human features, clothing, or other bodily details are given. A bloodied woman lies breathing with a faint red glow in her eyes and blood staining her smiling lips as Autonomy speaks through her dying body. No physical description is given for Trell. Age, build, coloring, hair, eyes, clothing, and distinguishing features are unspecified. A human woman serves as Autonomy's visible vessel, bloodied and breathing weakly. Her eyes have a faint red glow, and blood marks her lips as she smiles. Her hair, clothing, age, complexion, and build are not specified by the scene; keep those details understated rather than prominent. Dark figure; a god from ancient times
