Hammond, known to nearly everyone as Ham, begins as a pewter-burning Thug in Kelsier's crew, a soldierly bodyguard and military planner with a surprising fondness for philosophical puzzles. After the fall of the Lord Ruler he stays on with the new government, becoming Elend Venture's trusted friend and the captain of his guard during the siege of Luthadel. By the series' end he is a battle-hardened soldier in Elend's makeshift army, fighting koloss and Inquisitors while wrestling with deeper questions about faith, duty, and the collapsing world.

Description

A human man with an impressively muscular but not massive, soldierly build and close-cropped hair that sticks up slightly. He wears a loose sleeveless shirt, often with a vest and trousers; in some scenes he carries packs or a large broken-hilt sword. A large, imposing man with a beefy, muscular frame and the powerful build of a seasoned warrior, Hammond carries himself with the easy confidence of a fighter who relies on raw strength. He dresses simply in a vest over a shirt with trousers and sandals, ignoring harsh winter weather by forgoing any cloak or coat. His sturdy physique, beefy arms, and straightforward presence paint him as a reliable, battle-hardened thug ready for action at any moment. A large-muscled man with a powerful build and thick arms, Hammond wears a simple vest that exposes his bare arms along with sturdy trousers no matter the temperature, his pewter-enhanced resilience letting him ignore even the harshest cold. His face often shows looks of consternation with a furrowed brow as he sits in deep philosophical thought. A rugged fair-skinned man in his fighting prime, he carries the sturdy frame and capable stance of an experienced Thug warrior. Muscular and broad in his 30s, this Thug Allomancer sports short hair and wears only a vest, defying the cold with his powerful build. His frame ripples with strength honed for combat, posture confident and alert. A determined expression marks his soldierly presence, ready for action.
