Hermione Granger enters Hogwarts as a bushy-haired, rule-abiding Muggle-born know-it-all whose friendship with Harry Potter and Ron Weasley is forged when they rescue her from a troll. Over the following years her formidable intellect becomes the trio's greatest asset, from deducing the basilisk's nature in her second year to juggling an impossible course load with a Time-Turner in her third. By her fourth year she has matured into a passionate activist, founding S.P.E.W. to fight for house-elf rights, attending the Yule Ball with Viktor Krum, and facing down Rita Skeeter's smears. Throughout she stays fiercely loyal to Harry, while her relationship with Ron moves from bickering toward unspoken jealousy and attraction.
Description
A young girl with fair skin, lots of bushy brown hair and rather large front teeth who stands as an eleven-year-old first-year at Hogwarts. Her mobile face shows wide eyes in surprise, an open mouth with terror, trembling lips, dropped jaws, and tears streaming down her cheeks during moments of fear or emotion, while she shrinks against walls or sinks to the floor when frightened. She wears new Hogwarts robes during school activities and a pink bathrobe in the common room at night, presenting a neat if untamed appearance that fits her role as a studious young witch. A human girl with bushy brown hair. In chapter 9 her cheeks have bright pink patches and her eyes are brighter than usual; while Petrified, her eyes are open and glassy. A thirteen-year-old girl with a very brown tanned complexion from her summer away, an expressive round face that flushes pink when embarrassed, turns white with terror, or shows bloodshot eyes and tears during stress, and often bears dark shadows under her eyes from overwork and lack of sleep. Her hair falls into her eyes requiring frequent brushing away as she hurries between classes with towering piles of books, and she maintains a slender youthful build while wearing her everyday Hogwarts school robes, sometimes with a cloak pulled over her head or wrapped in thick scarves against the winter cold. A young human girl with very bushy brown hair and rather large front teeth, later reduced to straight, normal-sized teeth. Her hair is usually bushy; she wears Hogwarts school robes in school settings. Temporary injuries and clothing vary by scene.
