Geyrun is a murdered god, the son of the fire god Emberus and the goddess Apito (also referenced as Eileithyia), and the former owner of Orthrus, the two-headed puppy. He never appears directly; his story surfaces only in fragments, first as the mystery behind a quest Emberus gives Carl in The Eye of the Bedlam Bride, where the demon Amayon claims to have witnessed the deal behind the killing. In This Inevitable Ruin, suspicion falls on his uncle Hellik, who denies guilt and suggests Geyrun discovered the corruption afflicting Apito. Samantha then admits she had a hand in his death, and Emberus's grief turns to fury, driving his threat to incinerate the ninth floor.
