Cotyar serves as part of Avasarala’s security detail, offering both practical protection and a calm, companionable presence. He stays close through tense deliberations, briefing the men around her and witnessing her resolve firsthand. His unexpected, bashful embarrassment around Bobbie adds a human warmth to his otherwise professional composure.
Description
Cotyar is a pleasant-looking man of Kurdish descent, with gray hair and an approachable, friendly face that suggests a high-school teacher. His build and exact age are not specified, and his features are otherwise described only in broad strokes. He wears practical clothing appropriate to his security work and is at times armed with a black pistol. His presence is warm and unassuming, with an alertness that sits just beneath the surface.
