Helaran Davar, eldest of the Davar children, haunts the family's story first as an absence: in The Way of Kings he has vanished more than a year earlier, and his father has declared him dead. By Rhythm of War, Shallan's memories restore him as a steadying presence by the family hearth whose mere company bolstered Balat's confidence. The same book recasts his disappearance, revealing that he was a member of the Skybreakers who died after attacking Amaram. He turns from a missing brother into a figure tied to the hidden conflicts of the Knights Radiant.
