Armal Harms, a cousin of Steris and distant cousin of Marasi, first appears only as a name in The Alloy of Law: one of the hostages seized during the Coolerim Playhouse robbery, her fate unknown and a source of anguish for Steris. Years later, in The Lost Metal, she resurfaces as a stately, old-fashioned woman living in Entrone's isolated Community, where she has been held since her kidnapping seven years earlier and has built a life with a husband and children. Once Marasi reveals the truth about the outside world, Armal, a gifted Rioter, transforms from a reassuring presence into a decisive leader, helping overthrow Entrone, rallying the frightened townspeople, and using her emotional Allomancy to help drain the Set's portal.
