Hannah Abbott is a Hufflepuff student who lives on the edges of Harry's story, a steady background presence who captures the ordinary life of Hogwarts. In Chamber of Secrets she appears beside her friend Ernie Macmillan during the Herbology lesson where the panic over petrification is turning Hufflepuffs against Harry. By Goblet of Fire she is still a familiar face in the school's routines, chatting in Herbology, swapping Chocolate Frog cards and wearing a badge to cheer on her housemate Cedric Diggory as Hogwarts champion. Across both books she reflects Hufflepuff's loyalty and communal spirit rather than playing a central role.
Description
Hannah is an average-built girl of 12-13, with a friendly face suited to Hufflepuff camaraderie, dressed in yellow-and-black robes dirtied from greenhouse work. Her hair is neatly tied back, eyes bright with focus on plants like Shrivelfigs. She moves with practical ease among classmates, her presence unassuming yet warmly integrated into group efforts. Hannah is identified as a Hufflepuff student, but the text gives no specific details about her face, hair, coloring, or build. She wears the school’s usual robes, with a “Support Cedric Diggory!” badge as a distinctive touch. Her manner is quietly sociable, at ease among classmates as they talk and trade cards.
