Yemaya, the Goddess of Rivers, is a twin-tailed mermaid deity whose silhouette famously evokes the Starbucks logo. Long absent from the pantheon, she re-ascends in The Eye of the Bedlam Bride after Carl defies the other gods to restore her shrine, earning him the system's recognition as her friend and reuniting her with her devoted companion Eileithyia. Her return sets her against her brother Ogun, whose bloodshed in her temple she vows to bring before the council. By This Inevitable Ruin she recedes to the story's margins, remembered chiefly as Eileithyia's retainer and a vivid divine curiosity.

Description

Yemaya has dark skin, large eyes, pointed ears, and gills along her neck. Her beauty is described as striking and otherworldly; water flows around her bare upper body, providing a natural veil. Below her waist, two scaled mermaid bodies curve upward behind her, their fins arching into a distinctive heart shape. She rises amid fountain water with a composed, luminous presence. Yemaya is described as a goddess who looks like the Starbucks logo, an unusual and immediately recognizable visual impression. Beyond that resemblance, the text supplies no specific details about her features, skin tone, hair, eyes, build, or attire. Her bearing is divine by title, but no further qualities of her appearance are established.
