Eileithyia, Goddess of Childbirth and Female Pain, is the divine guise worn by Huanxin Jinx in the gods' Ascendency game. She first appears to Carl in The Eye of the Bedlam Bride, reunited with her long-absent friend and retainer Yemaya, offering boons and a quest tied to the murder of her son Geyrun. Behind that quest lies a private bargain over Faction Wars. By This Inevitable Ruin she has become Katia's patron goddess and offers her a place in her court, but Katia refuses and chooses pregnancy instead through the Orchid of Eileithyia's Grace, so she can reach and protect the isolated children.

Description

Eileithyia is a five-foot-tall, bipedal alien, her body blanketed in coarse blue and black hair. Her bug-like face bears six black eyes arranged in a V, above a long, thin neck; her extended belly gives her silhouette a pregnant appearance. Four arms extend from her frame, each ending in a hand with three fingers. A blood-red toga and a laurel leaf lend her an austere, ceremonial air that contrasts with her unmistakably strange form. Eileithyia is a large, voluptuous humanoid woman with olive skin, dark eyes, and dark curls threaded with flowers. Her lower face is strikingly alien, with a Nullian-like aspect that sets her apart from ordinary human beauty. White-and-gold robes drape her pillowy form, while her hands have three fingers each and her feet three toes each, visible beneath her sandals. She has four breasts, and her presence combines lush softness with unmistakable otherworldliness.
