Rosetta Thagra, a former crawler of the Crest species, enters the series as a polished game guide and interviewer whose composed exterior hides deep wounds and a hidden agenda. In The Eye of the Bedlam Bride she risks her position to pass Carl a coded clue and, alongside fellow veteran Tipid, joins the Princess Posse. By This Inevitable Ruin she has become a pillar of Carl's faction, serving as tactician, spell technician, and covert operative. She also bears the memory of her mother's death on the first day and of Brooks's murder by King Rust. After centuries of waiting, she decapitates Rust and weeps with relief, a vengeance Carl, who now regards her as a sister, ultimately honors.
Description
Rosetta is a pale, pretty woman in her early twenties, with an otherwise bald head crowned by a peculiar blob of yellow hair set at an angle. A long, flowery tattoo circles up her right leg, and a scrambler device sits at her neck. She wears either a professional pantsuit or a short dress, depending on the occasion, and carries herself with practiced poise. When uneasy, she rubs the side of her thigh; her build and eye color are not specified. A bald woman with pale, almost sickly skin. A floral tattoo covers her right leg, with tendrils peeking onto her left arm and suggesting it extends across her torso; the tattoo glows. In the described appearance she wears black shorts, boots, and a simple leather top, with no head covering.
