Raul is a mythic land-crab warrior and one of Princess Donut's summoned deck totems, a Sun-Kissed Cloud Rank Warrior whose glowing claws, spellwork, and speed-enhanced strength belie a deeply anxious, groveling personality. In The Eye of the Bedlam Bride he is coached by Carl toward confidence, feuds bitterly with fellow totem Geraldo, and is terrorized by Shi Maria. He ultimately answers Carl's appeal to fertilize the crab eggs, supplying the souls needed to power Amayon's return spell. By This Inevitable Ruin, the level-110 crab is blasted away by Gustavo's lightning, and his grandiose persona lingers on only as a talking action figure owned by Zander.
Description
Raul is a land crab about the size of a large pig, encased in red-and-black armor. Long, segmented legs support his broad body, and his formidable claws are large enough to wrap around a person’s waist. His right claw can glow after he chants a spell, a vivid point of light against the dark armor. He has a powerful, compact presence, but his controlled stretches and poised stillness give him an unexpectedly disciplined air. Raul is a mythic crab with a distinct shell and glowing claws, his presence more imposing than his crustacean form might suggest. The text describes his voice as deep but gives no shell color, markings, or other specific facial features. His striking silhouette is defined by the crab shell and the eerie glow of his claws.
