Epitome Tagg is a bald elf warlord in the Faction Wars, son of Epitome Noflex and bitter rival of Louis, whose flirtation with Tagg's mother earned his lasting hatred. Introduced in The Eye of the Bedlam Bride as a hostile power broker furious to find his supposedly murdered mother alive, he returns in This Inevitable Ruin as a scheming council member who humiliates King Stalwart before fleeing the battlefield. His end proves as strange as his ambitions: revealed to be a robot on the post-physical path, Tagg embeds himself in Louis's mechanical-biological heart and lungs, only to be killed when Carl stalls him and the crew transplants Princess Lunette's organs into Louis.
