Santichai Supitayaporn is an eighty-year-old earthborn missionary whose faith brings him to Ganymede. Frail and tiny, he confronts Holden with the urgent conviction of a man devoted to the Church of Humanity Ascendant. He is among the people Holden hopes to save, but is already dead by the time the protomolecule threat is considered. His gentle physical fragility remains sharply at odds with the fervor of his mission.

Description

Santichai is an elderly, tiny man, eighty years old and frail enough to seem almost wisp-like. His white hair is thinning, and his narrow frame is dressed in loose orange robes that swirl when he moves. His face is not described in detail, but a thin brown finger stands out when he gestures emphatically. His presence is physically slight yet animated by an intense, insistent energy.
