At eight, Kiki is one of Avasarala’s grandchildren, loved by her grandmother alongside her little sister Suri. Avasarala privately considers Kiki the smarter of the two, admiring her sharp attention and uncanny gift for mimicking anyone she hears. Kiki’s growing body leaves her joints aching, but her keen mind and quiet presence are what make her memorable.

Description

Kiki is an eight-year-old girl, described as quiet and marked by bright black eyes. The text says she is growing quickly enough for her joints to ache, but gives no further detail about her height, build, skin tone, hair, facial features, or clothes. Her most distinct visual impression is her attentive gaze: still and observant, with an alertness that seems to catch every small thing.
