Private Gourab is a young, inexperienced Martian Marine known for his Mariner Valley drawl, serving in Gunnery Sergeant Bobbie Draper's squad on Ganymede. When the protomolecule-based creature attacks the UN outpost, Gourab shoves Bobbie away from the door moments before the creature rips off his helmet and tears off his head, a swift and gruesome death that exposes how badly outmatched the green troops are. His sacrifice helps keep Bobbie alive, and his death is one of the losses that drive her quest for the truth about the attack. Book 1's summary places this battle on Eros, but the events described, including the powered armor, Bobbie's squad and the outpost, fit the Ganymede attack that opens Caliban's War.

Description

A young male in his late teens to 20s, average build clad in MCRN powered armor as a green private. His face, briefly visible, screams in vacuum exposure, carrying the sharp features of a Martian with a hint of Mariner Valley heritage. The armor fits his lithe frame, helmet askew in the moment of crisis. Gourab is seen in Martian Marine powered armor, with his face visible through the helmet’s armored glass. The text gives no details about his facial features, hair, eyes, skin tone, height, or build. His armor is the defining element of his appearance, and his presence reads as that of a young, inexperienced private.
