The Alethi Warcamps are ten sprawling military encampments built into the craters along the western edge of the Shattered Plains, each controlled by one of Alethkar's highprinces during the long War of Reckoning against the Parshendi. In The Way of Kings they are the political and military heart of the Alethi presence, places of rivalry, gemheart hunting, and intrigue where Kaladin suffers as a bridgeman in Sadeas's camp and Dalinar struggles to reunite the quarreling highprinces. After the Alethi relocate to Urithiru, the camps are largely left behind. By Rhythm of War they are weathered, fortress-like stone structures at the edge of the Plains, remnants of a war that has since given way to a far larger conflict.
