Ragnar Volarus begins as a towering Stained Obsidian bodyguard whose loyalty is purchased by Darrow au Andromedus in Golden Son, yet he quickly transcends servitude to become a sworn brother and ideological ally. Across Morning Star his devotion deepens into outright sacrifice when he falls battling Aja au Grimmus, leaving behind a legend that shapes Obsidian destiny. By Iron Gold his physical presence is gone, but his dream of freedom for his people continues to steer his sister Sefi and to haunt Darrow as both inspiration and burden.

Description

A colossal pale-skinned Obsidian warrior stands nearly twice the height of normal men, his gigantic frame packed with rock-like muscles that shift like coiled power beneath taut skin. Completely bald except for a meter-long white ponytail flowing down his back, his face is wind-weathered with thick calluses resembling rhinoceros hide, black eyes burning like witchflames from beneath prominent skull tattoos of the Stained while matching dragon-pupil tattoos mark the backs of his eyelids. Runic tattoos cover his body with symbols for protection, malice, mother, father, and sister, and he typically wears heavy dark armor that strains against his titanic build as he moves with perverse, flowing grace like a blade made flesh. A pale, gigantic, powerfully muscular man with black eyes and a hairless scalp except for a meter-long shock of white hair, later tied in a long ponytail. His wind-weathered cheeks are armored with calluses; he has yellow teeth and extensive runic tattoos across his body, including skull marks on his face. He is often seen in armor or tactical clothing. A human man in pure white, riveted armor with blue handprints across the chest and arms, a black cloak stained with a red stripe, gravBoots, and a battery pack at his lower back. His face is concealed. The text provides no concrete physical description of Ragnar Volarus, so his appearance cannot be established reliably. He is known through his reputation and remembered place among others, rather than through described features, clothing, or coloring. Any visual depiction should leave those specifics open instead of assigning him unsupported traits.
