The State Department Training Gym first appears in the final volume of the series as a specialized sparring facility where humans and Obin engage in combat training using advanced nanobot mesh suits. The gym represents the culmination of humanity's evolving diplomatic and military relationship with the Obin, transforming from a purely theoretical alliance into a practical training partnership. Its introduction in "The Shattering Peace" marks the institutionalization of interspecies cooperation at the highest levels of human government.
