Allik Neverfar is a Malwish airman from the Southern Continent whose presence in the Basin grows from a passing mention in Shadows of Self into a warm, steady fixture of Marasi Colms's life by The Lost Metal. By the series' final era he is Marasi's committed partner, a welcome guest in Waxillium Ladrian's household, and a man torn by the political weight of his people's decision to leave the Bands of Mourning on Scadrial. The arrival of the formidable Admiral Daal, signaling a harder Malwish stance, sharpens the tension between Allik's loyalties to his homeland and to the friends he has made.
