Lewis the Second, eldest son of Lothaire and great-grandson of Charlemagne, was content with the realm of Italy until his death without male issue left the throne vacant and disputed by uncles and cousins. He commanded in person the operations of the siege of Bari, demonstrating both his royal authority and his willingness to lead from the front.
Description
An adult Carolingian prince of medium build with dark hair and features reflecting his mixed Frankish and Italian heritage. He wears royal garments appropriate to a king of Italy, carrying himself with the dignified presence of one descended from Charlemagne. His expression conveys both the authority of his position and the weight of ruling a contested realm.
