Datius, Bishop of Milan and later Saint Datius, wielded considerable influence in both religious and political spheres. His prayers and pilgrimage secured military assistance from the Byzantine court, though his political activities ultimately led to rebellion and ruin among his countrymen. He escaped to the luxury and honors of the Byzantine court, where his influence continued to shape events from afar.
Description
An adult bishop wearing ecclesiastical robes and traveling with numerous attendants. His bearing is dignified and religious, marked by the vestments and symbols of his office. His presence suggests both spiritual authority and worldly influence.
