Transvect first appears as a mysterious, barely-glimpsed phenomenon in The Will of the Many, its true nature deliberately withheld from the reader. Across the series it evolves from an enigmatic force into a sentient, shape-shifting conduit that bridges the physical and metaphysical layers of the Hierarchy’s world. Its growing autonomy and moral agency force both protagonists and antagonists to confront whether Transvect is a tool, a weapon, or an emerging life-form with its own destiny.
