Vetusian begins as a dead language of secrecy in The Will of the Many, used by the Hierarchy's elite to encode messages and preserve forbidden knowledge. Over the course of the series, it transforms from a static relic into a living cipher that characters must master to unlock the true history of the Hierarchy and challenge its authority. Its evolution mirrors the protagonists' growing defiance, shifting from a tool of control to one of rebellion and revelation.
