Deditia begins as the fertile, politically charged heartland encircling the Catenan capital in The Will of the Many. Over the course of the series, this core region transforms from a stable seat of imperial power into a contested battleground where rebellion, shifting alliances, and the unraveling of the Hierarchy itself play out. Its strategic importance grows as factions vie for control, turning the once-secure hinterland into a crucible for the series’ climactic confrontations.
