Fred Weasley, one half of the irrepressible Weasley twins, begins the series as a freckled, red-haired Gryffindor Beater and prankster who treats Hogwarts as his personal playground alongside his identical brother George. Over the early books his mischief proves surprisingly useful: he helps rescue Harry from the Dursleys in a flying car and later hands him the Marauder's Map, the twins' greatest smuggled treasure. By Goblet of Fire, Fred's jokes have grown into genuine inventions such as Ton-Tongue Toffee and the seeds of a business ambition, sharpened by a failed attempt to enter the Triwizard Tournament and a bitter lesson about trust when Ludo Bagman cheats the twins out of their World Cup winnings.

Description

A fair-skinned teenage boy with a mop of flaming red hair and a face dotted with countless freckles looks out with a mischievous grin. Tall and lanky from years of wizarding family life and active play as Gryffindor Quidditch Beater, he wears either standard black Hogwarts robes or a cozy blue sweater featuring a large yellow F, his identical twin appearance making him indistinguishable from his brother George at first glance. A tall gangly teenage boy with vivid red hair, fair skin covered in freckles, and bright eyes full of mischief. He stands taller than his mother with a lean build that lets him climb catlike through windows and move with energetic grace. His face is dominated by a broad cheeky grin as if his birthday had come early, reflecting his constant readiness for pranks and jokes while wearing typical casual wizard clothing or pajamas in the morning. A teenage wizard with white skin that looks stark and extremely white when contrasted with drying mud from a Quidditch pitch, Fred Weasley carries himself with energetic mischief. He wears a Hogwarts cloak, produces hidden objects with a theatrical flourish, and often wears a satisfied smirk upon his face while acting in concert with his twin, his features animated by the playful confidence of a Gryffindor athlete and student. A boy with bright red hair, identical to his twin George, including freckles. He is clean-shaven in his ordinary appearance. His clothing varies with the occasion, including casual clothes, Hogwarts robes, and dress robes.
