The Queen Mother begins as a distant, disdainful figure in Buckkeep, viewing the bastard son of her husband Chivalry with open contempt and scheming to protect her sons Verity and Regal's claims to the throne. Her manipulations deepen the court's divisions, allying with Regal against Fitz and the true line, her maternal ambition blinding her to greater threats. In the end, her legacy is one of fractured loyalty, dying amid the intrigue she helped foster, a queen whose crown slipped through poisoned rivalries.
