Nekhebit is a battered vulture goddess whose cracked beak, healed wounds, and threadbare finery mark a deity who has endured age and hardship. In The Eye of the Bedlam Bride she is introduced as a formidable figure, sponsored by Odette, who plans to enter the dungeon as her representative in the Celestial Ascendency. By This Inevitable Ruin she exerts influence from a distance. She declares Carl a friend of her church and raises Princess Donut to be her Champion, while the god Hellik suspects she has returned and may be behind the corruption threatening the gods.
Description
Nekhebit has a slender, human-like body beneath a long, faded red dress, worn to threads and hanging in tatters. Her head is that of an Egyptian vulture, with a yellow beak cracked and chipped; white feathers spread around it in a dense, almost afro-like shape. She is old and dirty, her body heavily scarred and covered in healed wounds, while tarnished jewelry offers little shine against her weathered appearance. An oak bow rests slung over her shoulder, and her bearing feels as battered and enduring as her clothes. Not described in these chapters
