Commander Stockade, also known as Corporal Caterpillar, is a towering, fuzzy alien with a caterpillar-like body, compound eyes, and multiple arms who first appears in The Eye of the Bedlam Bride as little more than a striking presence. In This Inevitable Ruin he becomes an active antagonist, scheming with Architect Houston and engineering a teleport plot meant to exploit Carl's treatment and unleash Shi Maria against the Princess Posse. When the plan backfires, he is investigated and penalized by the Democratic Sortion's adjutant Panford, and the death of his beloved friend Luke shatters him. Consumed by grief and under the influence of Shi Maria's insanity spell, the bloodied Stockade takes his own life.
Description
