Clint Smashgrab is a Chee were-castor, a one-footed Were-Kin recon specialist who fights with mace and machete and shifts into a stocky, buck-toothed beaver form. In Book 5 he serves in Tsarina Signet's forces alongside his quarrelsome comrade Holger and fights beside Carl and Donut, until he is brutally ripped apart before Holger's eyes. His memory lives on in Signet's memorial tattoo beside his former teacher Miss Nadine, who loved him deeply. By Book 7 Clint returns in a startling new guise: a tiny, childlike flesh golem in a metal skull cap, dragging a training spear, frightened by the castle battle and protected by Holger, who now calls him his best friend.

Description

Clint is stocky and barrel-like, with a flat face, large brown eyes, and, in his furry form, brown fur with an oily sheen. Buck teeth jut from his rodent-like mouth, while a long, flat tail trails behind him and one hand is webbed. His bald head is wrapped in a tight red bandana, and he wears black studded leather from neck to toe; a curved metallic bar replaces his missing foot, while a mace and machete are crossed over his back. His broad silhouette and open, wide-eyed expression give him a strangely disarming presence. Clint has a tiny, dwarf-like frame and the proportions of a kindergarten-aged child. He is a flesh golem, though his precise coloring and facial features are not specified. A metal skull cap is his clearest identifying detail; he is also associated with a training spear, which is large enough to drag beside his small figure. His youthful scale gives him a vulnerable, wary presence.
