Lucien Vanserra, the exiled youngest son of the Autumn Court's High Lord Beron, begins the series as Tamlin's sharp-tongued emissary and closest friend, a fox-masked courtier whose scarred face and mechanical eye bear witness to Amarantha's cruelty. Though initially prickly toward Feyre, he becomes a reluctant ally who helps her survive the Spring Court and Under the Mountain. In A Court of Mist and Fury, his loyalty to Tamlin is strained as he defends Feyre against Ianthe and Tamlin's controlling impulses, yet he ultimately stands with Tamlin in the bargain with Hybern. Horrified by the treatment of the Archeron sisters, he shows Elain unexpected tenderness, a bond that reshapes his place in the series.
Description
A striking high fae male with long flowing fire-red hair that gleams like liquid flame, sharp elegant features half-hidden behind a bronze fox mask, and a brutal scar running from brow to jaw. One russet eye remains while the other is a gleaming golden mechanical orb that moves with intent. His sun-kissed skin and lean warrior frame are accentuated by fine tunics and the ever-present fox mask that lends him a sly, predatory air. A male fae with red hair, sometimes tied back, one flesh eye described as russet and one metal eye that whirs and narrows. His skin is described as sun-kissed gold, though it can appear pale or deathly pale in moments of distress. His face can tighten, slacken, or harden with emotion. He is seen wearing armored leather and carrying swords and knives.
