Faile ni Bashere t’Aybara, born Zarine Bashere, is Perrin’s wife and a Saldaean noblewoman whose fierce pride persists even when she is held among the Shaido as gai’shain. Her captivity tests her endurance and resolve, but never erases the force of her identity. Her bond with Perrin remains central to her story, as both struggle against the distance and danger separating them. Faile’s courage is expressed not as ease, but as the stubborn refusal to surrender who she is.

Description

Faile is a young woman of relatively short stature, with dark hair, slanted dark eyes, and a striking, hawk-like Saldaean nose. Her face is expressive, and she holds herself with deliberate dignity. In her most characteristic appearance here, she wears a white wool gai’shain blanket with its hood drawn up, over two undershirts, with slim bleached-leather boots, a broad belt of twisted gold links, and a close-fitting gold collar. Her controlled posture gives her a quietly resolute presence.
