The Vicomte de Mortemart is introduced as a genuine émigré with aristocratic connections, and his fashionable appearance and refined manners make him an accomplished figure in society. He remains a supporting presence rather than receiving a substantial personal arc; the book chiefly uses him as part of the social world around the central characters.
Description
Mortemart is a nice-looking young man with soft features and a polished, well-bred appearance. He dresses in fashionable attire, carrying himself with the composed ease of a practiced courtier. The text does not specify his hair, eyes, complexion, height, or build, so those details should remain open.
