Baron Asch is identified as the civil governor of Smolensk, receiving Alpátych at the Governor’s house. His appearance and personal history are not developed, and he remains a brief figure within the city’s official life.
Description
The text identifies Baron Asch as a man and as Smolensk’s civil governor, but gives no physical description. His height, build, complexion, hair, eyes, facial features, and clothing are unspecified. Any portrait should therefore rely on the restrained formality of an early-nineteenth-century provincial official without assigning him particular visual traits.
