Canon Rosario Gregorio appears as a Sicilian antiquary whose scholarship connects an envoy named Marco Polo with the celebrated traveller. His role is a brief but consequential act of identification: he helps preserve the association between a historical figure and the journeys that made his name famous. The text offers no further personal history or physical portrait.
Description
No physical description is provided. His age and build are unspecified, as are his hair, eyes, complexion, and facial features. His clerical title suggests a canon's status, but the text does not describe his clothing or bearing.
