Pegolotti is remembered as an Italian merchant whose knowledge of trade also took written form. His manual became a useful point of reference for understanding commerce and travel, including the mention of Sarai. The text offers no account of his personal appearance or a fuller life, so his legacy rests chiefly in the practical record he left behind.
Description
No specific physical appearance is recorded for Pegolotti. He is identified as an Italian merchant and author, but his height, build, complexion, hair, eyes, facial features, and clothing are not described. Any visual rendering should avoid treating conjecture as fact.
