The King of Manzi is presented as the ruler of Southern China, and his daughter is entrusted to the Polos. Beyond this consequential royal gesture, the account gives little of his personal history or character, leaving him chiefly as a figure of authority and trust within the narrative.
Description
The text does not describe the King of Manzi’s appearance. His build, complexion, hair, eyes, age, clothing, and distinguishing features remain unspecified; a faithful depiction should not invent them.
