The Everstorm first appears in The Way of Kings as an apocalyptic vision: a towering wall of blowing dust and darkness, a 'wrong highstorm' whose approach causes the very land to shatter and fall away. What begins as prophetic dread is revealed by Rhythm of War to have a concrete mechanism, as the storm is drawn out of Shadesmar through gemstones and summoned via stormform. By then it is a deliberate instrument of Odium's forces, a conduit that carries Voidspren into the Physical Realm and fuels the Singers' war against humanity.
