Wistiow manor is the lord's residence in the small town of Hearthstone, home to the aging Brightlord Wistiow, whose benevolent rule shaped the peaceful early childhood of Kaladin and his family. After Wistiow's death, the manor passes to the bitter Brightlord Roshone, exiled to Hearthstone from Kholinar, and becomes the seat of the petty tyranny that ruins Lirin's standing and sends Tien and Kaladin to war. By Rhythm of War, the manor and the town around it have changed hands again. Hearthstone falls under Fused occupation, and the old lordly house becomes the backdrop for Kaladin's return and the desperate escape of his family.
