Hanavanar was the king of Jah Keved, a monarch whose life ended at the hands of the Assassin in White, Szeth. In The Way of Kings he appears first as a name on an assassination list and then presiding over a lavish feast, before snatching up a half-shard shield and a Shardblade in a desperate, ultimately futile defense. By Rhythm of War he is remembered only as the late king, a paranoid ruler who survived by playing his highprinces against one another, a legacy that hints at the instability his death left behind.
Description
Hanavanar is thick-waisted and thick-shouldered, with a square brown beard and a prominent nose. He dresses in fine clothing appropriate to a king hosting a feast, the richness of his attire emphasizing his royal station. A half-shard shield and Shardblade are associated with him, adding martial weight to his otherwise courtly appearance. His substantial frame gives him a solid, imposing silhouette. No physical appearance is provided for Hanavanar. His face, build, coloring, hair, eyes, clothing, and age markers are unspecified; only his identity as the late king of Jah Keved is established.
