The older mustached crewman appears in chapters 12 and 13 as reliable background muscle, his brown skin and curled white mustache distinctive as he coils thick ropes and summons Zavier to the Cannon. Amid the ship's bustle and dangers, he provides steadfast support without fanfare. His brief role anchors the seafaring grit of the story's middle acts.
Description
Brown skin etched by years at sea, he sports a prominent white mustache with ends curled jauntily. Older and solidly muscled, his arms bulge with rope-coiling strength. Weathered face with crinkled eyes and broad nose, framed by short salt-stiffened hair. Dressed in open vest, rolled sleeves revealing sinew, and sturdy trousers tucked into boots. His presence is steady, hands callused and sure.
