Rolley works as a groom at the royal stables, where his ghostly pallor accompanies his report of the king’s accident. The king backhands him, yet Rolley remains in the stable’s orbit, later hovering with a bucket of water during a fire emergency. He is also noted as a witness to Hamon’s burn and as present during a dinner conversation in the tack room.
Description
Rolley is a male groom whose most clearly described feature is a ghostly pale face, especially striking when he is alarmed. His build, age, hair, and eye color are not specified. He wears practical clothing suited to work in the royal stables, and his presence is that of a cautious, attentive servant accustomed to staying near the action without drawing notice.
