LeechCraft debut in Golden Son as the Republic’s primary boarding craft, ferrying Obsidians, Golds, and Grays into the heart of enemy vessels. By Morning Star their role expands dramatically: the same small, ugly shuttles now melt through hulls to disgorge fifty-man assault teams, becoming the decisive weapon in the assault on the Sword Armada and the liberation of Mars. Across the two books they evolve from specialized boarding craft into the signature instrument of Darrow’s lightning war, embodying the Republic’s shift from hit-and-run raids to full-scale fleet engagements.
