Valkyrie Spires begins as an enigmatic, barely-mentioned ruin in the Red Rising universe, first referenced in Morning Star as a shattered remnant of the old world. By Dark Age, it has transformed into a fully realized battlefield: a once-proud Martian city reduced to hollow towers by orbital bombardment, now serving as a grim symbol of the war’s devastation and the cost of rebellion. The location evolves from a whispered name to a visceral emblem of the saga’s escalating conflict, embodying both the destruction wrought by the rising and the enduring scars left on Mars itself.
