The Hollows begins as a squalid zero-gravity slum carved into Phobos’ rocky core, a latticework of stacked cage apartments where Reds and lowColors endure crushing poverty. By the later books it has been transformed into a fortified command sanctuary, its vertical shafts and hydroponic farms repurposed to shelter the Rising’s leadership and supply its war machine. This evolution mirrors the broader arc of Red Rising itself: a place once defined by exploitation becomes the hidden heart of rebellion.
